HALLOWEEN NIGHT

We had two fire fighter's this year who were looking rather cute in their costumes! (Notice the great job Scott did on their pretend "air-packs"! - - - a spray painted 2 liter pop bottle upside down on their backs, velcroed around their chest under the coat) :) Gavin wore the fire fighter costume that Taden wore his first Halloween and I had actually picked up a "Woody" costume (Toy Story character) at a yard sale this summer for Taden to wear this year. However..... he wanted nothing to do with it! The shirt was stiff, didn't want the cowboy hat on, didn't like the sheriff vest, didn't want the handkercheif around his neck, etc. The costume was just "all wrong" for him! :) Rather than turn it into a problem, I decided not to pick this particular battle (since I had only spent $2.00 on it!) and instead asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween - he wanted to be a firefighter :) Gavin was teething and not too impressed with his costume, but we ended up having a good night with the boys - it was really fun trick-or-treating around Leslie with our friends Taylor and Megan and thei daughter Grace, and then we hopped in the car and went to my parents church where they do an awesome "Trunk-or-treat" (810 people went thru this year!!!! WOW!!!!) Taden got to ride the pony and we got a picture with the Rives Fire Dept mascott.

crocheting and caterpillars...

I am so excited that my crocheted sock monkey hats and hat/blanket sets have been selling. I was in a craft show a couple weeks ago and they sold and since then I have gotten orders for more. I'm thinking about trying to sell on www.etsy.com, a crafters website you can post handmade things on. Just ventured out and made an owl purse/bag and already have someone potentially interested in one.

We found an "albino" (is there such a thing?) catterpillar outside yesterday and showed it to daddy. We were waiting for the caterpillar to "un-coil" so we could get a different picture. In the meantime Taden played and when we went to check on the caterpillar again, we discovered he was missing...where do you think he was? ON THE BOTTOM OF DADDY'S SHOE!!! :) We didn't let Taden know that his caterpillar friend was gone forever, just simply told him the caterpillar wasn't there :) Scott felt bad, but it was just an accident.

months and months and months have passed!

Well, it feels good to have caught up on our family blog. I have let it go for quite some time and am happy to be "blogging" again :) We'll see how much time passes between this blog entry and my next one! Instead of doing a bunch of journaling between each picture to detail what that event was, I decided to just kind of do a quick summary here and then let the pictures follow...
In July we went to Canada for vacation and got to spend time with family which was really nice - it was fun seeing the boys all together (cousins), also fun to be at a family BBQ at Dan and Bethany's house! Taden loved going to the beach too.
In August we went to Canada again, this time to visit friends and stay at a cabin with them that hey have access to. It was so good to see them and they were such a blessing and encouragement to us while we were there. Taden caught his first fish, we swam, tubing, boating, paddle boating, nature walks, etc. Taden also got to "drive" the speedboat while Daddy & Uncle Dan were on tubes behind it!
Also included are lots of day to day pictures in the lives of the Davidson boys :)Teething, first time eating cereal, first solid foods, bathtime, enjoying our swingset, first haircut(trim), etc.
Enjoy!

Brothers!

My 30th birthday :)
