Scott and I have been going thru a pretty difficult circumstance this last week and the Lord brought us encouragement today through the lyrics of a Christian song. Just wanted to share the story real quick. I went to the bank this morning and while I was in the car driving, a song came on the Christian radio station by Newsboys that's called "In the Hands of God". If you haven't heard it before, the lyrics were so good and just what I needed to hear. Part of it was ... "In the hands of God, we will fall, rest for the restless and the weary...hands that are mighty to deliver, givin' us freedom... " Then there was a part that talking about "You're amazing and we praise you" and I got teary b/c He IS amazing and there IS things to praise Him for, even when we (Scott and I) are feeling weary. It was a good reminder since praising the Lord is not the first thing I do in the midst of hard times. I came home and got Scott to pull it up on the internet so he could hear it too, we both were teary listening to it. Good song. A real blessing. What we needed. I enclosed the lyrics below in case you haven't heard the song before.
VERSE 1:
We have raised our hopes and our cities' high
We have followed fragile dreams
But only one could take the measure of our goals
And we've stumbled over the trials of life
And we've wrestled the unseen
And only one can calm the storm inside our souls
CHORUS:
In the hands of God,
We will fall
Rest for the restless, and the weary
Hope for the sinner
In the hands of God,
We stand tall
Hands that are mighty, to deliver
Givin' us freedom
VERSE 2:
When our strength gave way to the weight of guilt,
'Til we strain for every breath
Only One could lift our shame and make us well
And when all is finished and we face the fearsome power of death
Only One has overcome the gates of hell
CHORUS
BRIDGE:
You're amazing, You're amazing, You are
You're amazing, You're amazing, You are
And we praise You, Lord, for what Your hands have done
You're amazing, You're amazing, You are
something I can do.
