Gavin Blaze Davidson!

Saturday,December 26, 2009, 8:39pm

I think this picture is incredible! (good job on the camera Scott!)The doctor is pulling Gavin out and in this picture, his head is out and the rest of his body is still in my belly. Birth is such an amazing miracle!

6 pounds 13 ounces

Our first picture together

Proud Daddy (little did we know what was about to happen in a few minutes from when this picture was taken and how critical things would get)

Worried and Concerned - our first trip to the NICU right when I got out of recovery. We could touch him through the isolette holes but we couldn't hold him at this point.

Little Gavin

They were able to roll me in on the recovery bed right up next to the isolette where Gavin was so I could see him.

This was 5 hours after surgery when we went back to NICU and got the good news that Gavin was breathing great on his own. He didn't have to have the tubes in his nose and mouth any more. What a relief to hear. He still had to stay in NICU for 3 days but the critical part was over in just a few hours Praise the Lord!

Poor little guy had an IV in the whole time and had to have it re-done too when his vein failed due to the medicine he had to have. He got the IV out the day we were discharged.

ADORABLE! I love his eyes and dark hair!

We can hold him!!! The whole time Gavin was in NICU, the only people allowed to visit him (hospital policy) were the parents and grandparents of the baby, so Taden and our siblings didn't get to meet him until the 3rd or 4th day when he was released to my room.

Gramma Davidson helping with a bottle feeding - the holspital wanted everything measured so they would know how much Gavin was eating, they even weighed his diapers to see.

"I love you Gavin!"

Uncle Jer came to visit on Sunday and left on Tuesday and hadn't been able to hold Gavin yet or even see him b/c Gavin had been in the NICU - Gavin was released to my room the day Uncle Jer was leaving so it was really nice that he could see him and hold him before going home.

Taden thought it's be fun to slide Gavin around on his bath cradle on the kitchen floor! Don't worry, we monitored it! :)

  1. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!! You guys have some really PRECIOUS pictures that really capture some neat moments. I think you will treasure these forever and they will bring you right back to those moments. My favorites are the picture of Gavin being born (how awesome is that!!!) and the one of you (Amy) and Gavin in the hospital, seeing you through Gavin's crib thing. Also the one of you and Gavin and Taden in the hospital room and you have the look on your face of showing Tae his little brother...so proud. :) Love you guys. We'll talk soon!
