Taden turned 2 !!!

Taden turned 2 a week ago today! He absolutely LOVES trains (and fire trucks and tractors) so I made a train cake and we got some Thomas the train plates and cups and napkins (thanks for the napkins Mom D!) We started with ice cream & cake and then presents. Then we ordered pizza because it was about supper time. Everyone just relaxed and enjoyed celebrating Taden and being together.

This piece of red licorice was the piece connecting the train wheels on the cake and before we could even get the candles lit or Happy Birthday sung to him, he had pulled it off the cake and started eating it :) Very cute!

Taden had a little bit of "early practice" blowing out candles when we were in Canada in October with Scott's family - we celebrated Tae's b-day while there and he got to blow out candles :) It was nice he had the recent "practice" so he would be familiar with what to do on his actual b-day :)

We found these individual tubs of ice cream at Wal-Mart and I don't remember the brand name, but they were the same thing as "Dippin'Dots" ice cream - so fun! We got two different flavors - cotton candy and chocolate chip cookie dough.

This ice cream is yummy!

"This looks like a comfy spot to sit and open presents!!!"

Gramma reading Tae one of the books she and Grampa got him. (Taden didn't crack a smile while opening the presents from all of us - he was very quiet and serious - we think he was "crashing" from the sugar he had b/c we ate cake and ice cream before presents! And when we went to the living room for present time, he was running around with all this energy, and then after a little bit he settled right down and was done) :)

"Dad, can you hurry up and get this thing put together?" :)

Gramma C has started a tradition of buying some Christmas jammies each year for Taden and is going to do it with the rest of the grandkids as they come along. So these jammies were one of the things that Grampa and Gramma gave Taden for his b-day :) I love them, they're like "little MAN" pajamas... fleece button down collared pajama shirt and pants :)
